About Shari
Born and raised in Brooklyn New York City, Shari Hardies, LCSW comes to her client’s with cultural competency, a diverse perspective and an immense appreciation for the human experience. This therapist brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her client’s, striving to make the personal connections that foster change. Shari attended St. John’s University, earning an undergraduate degree in Psychology in 1999. After graduating from Colorado State University School of Social Work in 2006, Shari obtained licensure in Clinical Social Work from the State of Colorado.
“For as long as I can remember my passion has been working with people and helping them to form healthy relationships with themselves and others.” Relocating to beautiful Boulder Colorado in 2001 Shari began to concentrate solely on mental health work with adults, children and adolescents in mental health and educational settings. After years of working with emotionally challenged children, at risk teens, exhausted parents and their families, Social Work became a profession as well as a passion. “I have had the privilege to treat the community of Boulder and Metro Denver in a variety of settings. I have spent my professional experiences constantly being impressed with the amazing transformations that adolescents, adults and families with emotional, behavioral and life challenges can and do achieve with the right skills, guidance and dedication.”
The specific expertise of this therapist lies in working with Children and adolescents diagnosed with Conduct Disorder, Attachment Disorders, Pervasive Developmental Disorders, low- level substance abuse, Anxiety Disorder, Bipolar Disorder and Depression.
Employing several different treatment modalities to assist clients and their families is a goal. This practice celebrates the differences that each individual brings and individualizes treatment modalities to meet their unique needs and circumstance. No two people process their experiences in the same way and therefore a unique approach is customized for each client. Although all treatment modalities are Strength Based specific modalities may include, CBT, DBT, Client Centered Therapy, Short Term Solution Focused Therapy, Family Systems Approach and Psychotherapy. Working in collaboration with schools, outside agencies, psychiatrists and physicians to further assist in the comprehensive care of clients is an expectation for treatment.
